Year 6 Leavers’ Presentation

St.Matthews-050-HighRes

Year 6 have started their final week at
St Matthew’s before starting their secondary schools in September.

Today, at the Year 6 Leavers’ Presentation, the children talked to the audience of family and friends about their happy memories of being a pupil at St Matthew’s and their dreams and aspirations for the future.

The drummers, violinists and singers performed beautifully and the singing from everybody in the hall raised the roof!  The class were then presented with atlases and bibles by our Chair of Governors, Father Philip.

Good luck Year 6!

Science and the World Cup!

Everyone was excited with the recent science challenge at St Matthew’s:

“Build a 3D model of a trophy using recycled materials.
Make sure you write a little bit about your model and describe what
metals/materials it will be made of and why you chose them.”

Thank you to the Chemical Industries Association who judged the trophies and congratulations to all the children who entered this fantastic competition!

Here are pictures of some of the magnificent entries, including the overall
