STOMP Charity Walk

The whole school took part in a SCHOOL STOMP this week to raise awareness and money for ‘Health Poverty Action’.  We stomped around the local area chanting and cheering!

Health Poverty Action says:
“Everyone deserves the best chance at good health, regardless of where they are born. An astonishing number of children in the world do not reach their 5th birthday.  The risk of disease, insufficient nutritionand poor sanitation coupled with lack of health facilities means some of the children will not reach adulthood.  These deaths are preventable.”

The pupils of St Matthew’s raised a magnificent £213 for this important charity!

Writing Club and the Wave of Prayer

Inspired by the Wave of Prayer (8th-15th May), Ms Green’s Writing Club wrote some prayers.  Here they are!

Dear God

Thank you for believing in us, each and every day. Thank you for helping us to think positively, even when we face difficulties. Thank you for all the beautiful things that you have created for us.

Thank you for all the wonderful children at St Matthew’s and for how special they make our school. Thank you for making Mrs Jewitt such a brilliant headteacher, for helping her to take such good care of us and for our friends and teachers in the school; they make us happy.

Please watch over us all. Please help us all in our times of need. Please give us your blessing and your patience.

Thank you for our inner peace.

By Louisa, Hong-Anh, Phuong (Year 6) and Elijah (Year 5)

Dear God

Thank you for this beautiful Earth and everything that we have. Thank you for all the plants and trees we have today. Without them, our planet wouldn’t be such a comforting home. We also thank you for the flowers and animals. We pray that there will be more homes for animals in need.

In Your name

Sneha (Year 4)

Dear God

Please help all those who are in need.

Please help people in wars to find peace.

Please help those who are sick to find good health.

Let it rain where countries are dry.

Let food grow where there is hunger.

Please give us positivity so that we can share it everywhere we go.

Please help us to love everybody and let them love us in return.

Please bless all the people around the world.

Bitania and Bess (Year 5)
