Welcome to St Matthew’s Primary School.

St Matthew’s School is a thriving one form entry church school in the centre of Westminster. The care, guidance and support we provide for our children, our high expectations and the excellent educational and inclusive opportunities supports our belief that every child matters.

Children’s spiritual, moral, social, emotional and academic development is encapsulated in our motto of ‘Belonging, Believing, Achieving’. Standards have continued to rise over the last three years in every Key Stage and the school continues to develop and grow.

Our excellent class teachers provide a broad and exciting curriculum from Nursery through to Year 6 that is enhanced by our specialist Music and Spanish teachers. The pupils participate in a range of activities outside of the classroom to enhance the curriculum and are able to take part in a rich extra-curricular programme after school.

With around 210 pupils on roll, (Nursery, age 3, to Year 6) we celebrate the diversity our children bring from over 40 different home countries. The majority of our pupils live within a mile of the school, but a large proportion of pupils travel into Westminster each day with their parents who work in the local area.

Our Breakfast Club and Extended School Provision ensure that wraparound care is available for our pupils from 7.45am until 6pm each day.

Our website will give you a glimpse into the exciting life at St Matthew’s, but if you would like further information or have any queries about the school, please do contact our Administrator (Lesley Rider) or our School Business Manager (David Richards) via the school office.
