School Council and Pupil Voice
Pupil voice at St Matthew's Primary School is extremely strong and very much valued. Situated just a stone's throw from the Houses of Parliament, we teach our pupils to understand the importance of the values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and understanding of different faiths and beliefs.
Our School Council - consisting of democratically elected representatives from each year group from key stages one and two - meets regularly to discuss pupils' wellbeing, concerns, suggestions and ideas for further improving the school environment and offer.
Each year, they visit the Houses of Parliament to enrich and develop their understanding of the democratic process.
