In March 2026, St Matthew's entered into a partnership with Burdett Coutts & Townshend Foundation C of E Primary School, with Yvonne Barnett taking on the role of Executive Headteacher across the two schools. Under the teams of the partnership agreement, each school will continue to operate as it does no, retaining its distinct identity, church, staff and community. As both are Church of England schools, similar in size and located within a seven minute walk of each other, we are confident that close collaboration is both practical and manageable, while allowing each school to maintain it's day to day operations. 

Whilst maintaining the Christian ethos and distinctiveness of each individual school, the partnership aims to:

• Encourage the development of different and innovative ways of working with another school to have a positive impact on all pupils
• Enhance the educational provision offered to the children of both schools
• Uphold and further build upon the existing high quality of teaching and learning and outcomes in both schools
• Provide opportunities to share and develop staff expertise across both schools
